Twitter has many different places, with all different functions. Each place includes different things to see and do. Here are a few of the various pages Twitter offers:

Home

The Home page lets you see all the new tweets from the people you follow. The most recent tweets will show at the top of the page, and as you scroll down the less recent ones will be shown.

Notifications

The Notifications page shows when new people have followed you, if someone favorited one of your tweets, if someone retweeted one of your tweets, or if someone replied to one of your tweets. On the left side of the page, there is a "Mentions" option. When you click on this, you will see if anyone mentioned you in a tweet.

Discover

The Discover page shows tweets that may interest you, based on the people that you currently follow. It also often includes the latest news, and links to various other sites.

Me

The Me page shows many things. It shows all the things you have tweeted, in reverse chronological order. You can also see all of the pictures and videos that you have used. Here you can also edit your profile, by clicking the "Edit Profile" button on the top right of the page. You can also see how many people you follow, and how many people follow you. By clicking the "More" button on the top of the page, you can access your lists. Lists are where you add certain users, and you can only see what they have tweeted.

Search

The Search function is at the very top of every page. It allows you to search tags and users throughout all of Twitter.

Messages

The Messages button looks like an envelope, and is located next to the search bar. It allows you to see your direct messages, and send them to others. Direct messages are messages that are only between the sender and recipient, and can only be seen by them.

Settings

The Settings button looks like a gear, and is located next to the messages button. From here, you can perform a variety of tasks. You can locate and edit your profile, go to the Help menu, access and set keyboard shortcuts, go to your settings, and sign out. The settings option under the gear lets you perform a wide array of tasks for your account. You can access account options, security and privacy, password settings, payments and orders, mobile options, email notifications, web notifications, muted accounts, profile options, design options, apps, and widgets.

Compose

The Compose button allows you to make a new tweet. It lets you type text, tag things, mention people, add photos and video, and turn on/off location.
